Nemo is a Dufour Gib’Sea 51, designed for cruising and to make sailing a pleasurable experience at all times. Award-winning J&J designers succeeded at the directive to create “the most spacious cruising yacht in her size”. Aimed at the charter trade, NEMO combines the thrill of sailing performance with maximized accommodations. Below decks, the saloon is spacious, with convenient galley and elegant dinette seating for all guests. Classically crafted, rich wood interiors are flooded with light from numerous hatches and port lights. New, cream-colored upholstery adds to the light and airy feel. NEMO is designed with four, spacious queen berth cabins, two of which may be converted to twin berths. There is also a crew cabin positioned forward. NEMO is commercially licensed to carry a maximum of six guests. With four queen cabins available, NEMO is a great option for four friends traveling solo, as each can have their own queen cabin. And when converted to twins, on a family charter kids can each have their own bunks. All cabins are ensuite with plush bathroom towels and warm-water showers. For charter friends and families with children, two cabins can be converted to twins, making NEMO exceptionally adaptable. Each cabin is decorated with art themes in support of wildlife ‘adopted’ annually by the crew through the WWF – Blue Footed Booby, Green Sea Turtle, Bottlenose Dolphin, Brown Pelican, Humpback Whale and Harbour Seal. The huge cockpit is one of Nemo’s best features. There is room enough for the entire charter party to comfortably enjoy the sail, canapés at cocktail hour, or dining al fresco. NEMO’s twin helm design and pass-through transom are especially appreciated when under sail, affording lots of space and an extremely comfortable area to relax in. The bimini and sun awning keep the party cool and protected from the sun. During 2016 S/Y Nemo and her trusty tender Dory, received a complete overhaul including a new engine, rigging, through-hulls, hatches and portholes, spray-hood windows and dinghy chaps. The refit also includes upgrades to the interior woodwork and upholstery. Experienced sailors are encouraged to try their hand at the helm, or Captain Neil will happily provide guests with instruction. At anchor, enjoy a swim and snorkel off the back of the boat, launch the paddleboard or two-person kayak, or simply enjoy the view. Nemo is the perfect charter yacht for a sailing vacation in the Caribbean.

S/Y Nemo has a wooden interior with lots of light throughout as she has 29 hatches / port lights. The main saloon and dining area is open plan, light and airy, and can comfortably sit six guests, all of whom can sit back, relax and enjoy the delicious breakfasts, lunches, aperitifs and dinners served on board. All the new upholstery is cream to continue the light and airy feel.

The cockpit is one of S/Y Nemo’s best features. Her twin helm design and pass-through transom combine to create a great space when sailing and an extremely comfortable area to relax in. Guests tend to enjoy dinning on deck the most, and here S/Y Nemo can also easily sit all six guests. Her swimming platform provides great water access, as well as easy access to the dinghy, kayak and paddleboard. On deck we have Kaisrs and a hammock for guests to relax and soak up the tropical sunshine on.

All guest cabins are queen-sized cabins, and have an ensuite shower room. The maximum capacity is 6 pax, but the 4 cabins are a great choice for single guests.

Each of the four guest cabins has three windows, and one in the ensuite, continuing her light and airy feel. Two of the cabins can also be converted into twins. The crew have a separate cabin and ensuite. All the cabins have electric fans.

Each cabin is themed with art to support wildlife we ‘adopt’ annually through the WWF – Blue Footed Booby, Green Sea Turtle, Bottlenose Dolphin, Brown Pelican, Humpback Whale and Harbour Seal.

CAPTAIN NEIL COLLIER:

Neil is very knowledgeable and very nice. He inspires confidence, which makes him an excellent teacher and great fun to be around. Neil grew up in Birmingham. As a teenager, he was already competent at sailing many types of boats, from Hobie Cats to yachts. He was also an accomplished football player. But his greatest determination was success as a RAF fighter pilot. He spent a lot of time as a RAF cadet, flying gliders, small airplanes and honing a natural facility for mechanics and engineering. His eventual pursuit of sailing qualifications was coincidentally inspired by a RAF cadet adventure training week aboard a yacht.

Neil graduated university with a degree in mechanical engineering. From there he built and ran a very successful design and manufacturing company. But after 20 years ashore he could no longer resist the lure of the sea. In 2014 Neil achieved his Ocean Yachtmaster and established a reputation for excellence and integrity teaching sailing as a RYA cruising instructor and charter skipper. He loves to involve everyone in the enjoyment of sailing and the unique peace and excitement that can be found at sea.

Neil has mentored teenage students, counseled on a telephone helpline, and taught English as a second language. His endearing charm and easy going demeanor make him very approachable and unintimidating. “Aboard NEMO we have an interactive charter style,” says Neil. “We encourage a hands-on approach with sailing and watersports. I especially enjoy teaching beginners. During a holiday guests are relaxed and receptive, plus there is no pressure for certificates and deadlines. It is very rewarding to see guests’ excitement as they improve their knowledge, even if they are already experienced sailors! Per glowing testimonials, guests wholeheartedly agree!

CAPTAIN/CHEF SAMANTHA BURROUGH:

Samantha Burrough, affectionately called Sam, is truly a citizen of the planet. Her father was a RAF fighter pilot and growing up on bases in the UK, Germany and Belgium offered many privileged experiences. Sam had ponies and competed in dressage, show-jumping and cross-country. In Germany, fabulous skiing, just out the back door, consumed her weekends. Most of all, living abroad instilled a love of international travel.

Sam was super excited about a future working in Europe and studied German, Spanish and politics at Bradford University where she earned a BA Hons. Despite training to do simultaneous translation, she applied her language skills in the global IT industry. For the next 20 years, she was living the dream in Italy, Spain, Germany, Singapore, Australia and the US. It was in San Francisco, sailing around the bay, that first inspired a career change. She obtained US sailing qualifications, then her Yachtmaster in the Caribbean.

Sam speaks fluent English, German, and conversational Spanish. She also has an impressive repertoire of Italian food words. Because, it was Italy that ignited her passion for cooking. She took a one-month cordon bleu cookery course and was then whisked off to work in the Italian alps. In a word, “fabulous”! As the Chef aboard NEMO, Sam brings a range of cooking styles and flavors to the table, including Italian. Her menu has repeatedly earned her rave guest reviews, such as “seriously delicious”, for her Roasted Mahi Mahi with Feta & Herb Crumble. Guests also admire her endless energy, attentive caring, and most delightful sense of humor. Aboard NEMO, prepare to eat, drink and be merry!

Wonderful Sailing and Superb Food!
What a brilliant time we had! All thanks to the hard work and personal attention of Neil and Sam, who have been perfect hosts, skippers, tour guides, teachers and cooks. We have had some wonderful sailing days where two landlubbers learned new skills in basic crew, paddle boarding and kayaking! The food has been superb and many thanks for tailoring meals to meet coeliac dietary requirements - we could not have asked for more. A perfect holiday, perfectly arranged and managed. Thank you! Frank & Gill, Warwick, UK
A wonderful Holiday!
We had a lovely holiday with Sam and Neil that brought to us the delights of Antigua and Barbuda. We sailed to Barbuda and all around Antigua visiting beautiful coves and golden sand beaches under the excellent skippering of Neil. Use of their kayak and paddle board provided lots of fun above the water and their snorkeling kit provided plenty of opportunities to visit the underwater paradise of coral. Throughout we enjoyed 5* dining on board thanks to Sam’s amazing cooking and thanks to both their local knowledge we dined on shore at restaurants that provided excellent local cuisine within the wonderful ambience of the Caribbean culture. Thanks for a wonderful holiday, we look forward to the next time. Bob & Barbara, Somerset, UK
Excellent Adventure!
I had a great time on my sailing trip with Neil and Sam. The sailing was excellent with Neil by my side, and the meals on board Nemo prepared by Sam were wonderful and when we went ashore the restaurant selection was excellent. This is my first trip and I look forward to joining them again. Don, California, US
Lots of Fun Adventures!
I loved my 10 day experience on Nemo! From great food, hands-on practice at the helm and figuring out what to do with all those ropes was amazing! I had lots of fun adventures, thank you. Lucyanna, Toronto, Canada Thank you for a memorable sail through some beautiful seas. The last ten days have by so quickly that I think Einstein got it wrong - sailing at 5 knots in Nemo makes time warp and pass quickly - not traveling at the speed of light….The fantastic food, great company and sailing instruction made this a great holiday. Graham, Podere Sant’ Angelo, Italy
A Great Adventure!
Thank you so much for our wonderful trip around several islands of the Caribe. Your expertise made it a great adventure and you are both wonderful hosts. Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you in the Caribbean for another trip soon. (first photo - arriving in Martinique) Laura & Tim, California, USA
Great Mini Break!
Thank you Neil and Sam for a great mini break in St Martin. Nemo’s layout is wonderful for relaxing on, and the food on board and ashore was really great. I enjoyed jumping off the back of the boat for a swim with the toys and just luxuriating! Michael, California, US
Completely Fabulous!! July 2017
Neil and Sam, Thank you so much for the incredibly wonderful time we had sailing on Nemo!! Every aspect of the experience was just the best!! Feeling safe in the hands of not just one but two captains on board, plus the most delicious dishes Sam cooked up in the galley, to the attentiveness of a pillow placed to maximize comfort, these guys have it all together and really knocked it out of the park!! The yacht was very comfortable and the sailing was much enjoyed. But most of all, Sam and Neil are just such awesome people - simply delightful to share vacation time with. I highly recommend S/Y Nemo for a very affordable yet completely fabulous sailing vacation!! D.R., Wichita, KS

We spent a wonderful time with you, had lots of fun either sailing, diving, snorkeling, SUB'ing, canoeing (and life-saving!). We had wonderful food too, Sam you surprised us every day with fabulous meals. Neil thanks for the sailing instruction, the ‘knot-lessons’ and your patience! You both do a wonderful job!! And we love Nemo and Dory! There is a German Band called Dicke Fishe. One song is ‘Mir get’s gut, Dir get’s gut, Uns get’s gut. We are happy we could stay with you.
Christmas 2017 Fun in the Grenadines on SY Nemo
We can't thank you enough for your hospitality and generosity. What a wonderful sailing vacation with such nice, friendly and warm company. Thank you for making us feel so at home and welcome. We learned a great deal from the two of you. You both have such easy going and natural ways about you. The sailing was spectacular and the food fabulous! Each of the islands were a little different, making each day a new adventure. We loved the snorkeling and Tobago Cays and enjoyed both the dives in Bequia and Carriacou. Sister's Rock and Rose Wreck were amazing. We seriously had an amazing trip! Thank you for everything. T. Family, New York, USA

These guests are certainly having a Christmas day that is "Merry and Bright" on SY NEMO full of Christmas Cheer!!
New skippers on vacation on Nemo - now both on the helm!
Ann & Hugh, Manchester, UK We had a wonderful holiday. Ann was initially a reluctant sailor but Sam, Neil and Nemo turned that all around. Nemo is a lovely comfortable boat kept in perfect condition by Sam and Neil and she was a pleasure to sail. Sam’s food was delicious and Ann was amazed that she cooked such a variety of dishes on a boat! Neil was very patient and helpful in showing me ‘the ropes' and improving my steering. The places we visited and the shore trips (especially at night in Dory when a fish jumped in to join us!) and restaurants they found for us were also great. All in all a wonderful holiday and we can’t wait to try sailing again! Ann & Hugh, Manchester, UK
10 days Martinique to Grenadines
It was a most delightful 10 day trip from Martinique to the Grenadines. We learned a lot, had good conversation, wonderful food and drink. We have memories we will treasure all our lives. Thanks for everything! Midge & Joe, Carlisle, USA
St Lucia to Grenada
After our first meeting in the bar in Rodney Bay Marina, St Lucia we four Swiss travellers entered two by two onto Nemo and it was love at first sight. After hoisting the Swiss flag we started our journey towards Grenada. We took in many fabulous islands, swam in turquoise waters filled with turtles and tropical fish, met and danced with lots of friendly locals, visited local bars and ate lobster on the beach! We miss the sailing under Neil's great guidance, super delicious catering par excellence from Sam, the lapping of our beloved Dory behind the boat and your great hospitality. A Marine experience!
When this western Canadian prairie boy first heeled over at 7 knots with spray in my face and Sam at the helm I knew I was in for a special time! And, as expected, the highlights kept popping…snorkeling through a turtle traffic jam with a ray feeding below us in the cays…jumping around on the dance floor at Basil’s (with Basil!)…the heron alighting with water drops from his wings glistening in the sun as my kayak glided by…safely skirting a squall and catching the edge in a burst of excitement. If you want a sailing adventure that is both exciting and relaxing at the same time, if you want to experience the Caribbean like someone in the know, and if you want to ride the waves on an elegantly simple and beautiful boat, go with Sam and Neil (and Nemo!). I can’t recommend them more highly, a great experience! Thank you, and thank you again! Jeff, Edmonton, Canada
Martinque to St Vincent - 10 day sailing trip
Just finished a 10 day trip from Martinique to St Vincent and the Grenadines with Sam and Neil. If you love to sail, but don’t want to charter a whole boat, this is a rare opportunity to join a blue water sailing adventure, which includes daytime passages between islands and quiet beautiful anchorages. Maybe you just finished a sailing class and are looking for an adventure to stretch your skills, or maybe you love to sail but your spouse wants a traditional vacation where he/she doesn’t have to contribute to sailing or cooking. This is your chance! Most “cabin charters” are designed for non-sailors and you aren’t allowed to be actively involved. With Sam and Neil, you will be encouraged to helm the boat, trim the jib, raise the anchor, and be an active member of the crew. I’ve searched far and wide for this type of experience, and I can assure you it is rare. As an avid sailor I can also say that it is a true pleasure to sail on such a well maintained and lovingly cared for vessel. Yacht Nemo is a 51 foot Dufour that sails well and has generous cabins. The boat is better kept than the boats I’ve chartered with the Moorings. Another very important consideration is safety. The safety equipment on board is top notch and well maintained, unlike many private boats I’ve seen. Neil is a serious sailor and well trained. I’ve experienced some tricky situations sailing with Neil before on other trips, and I have been duly impressed with his knowledge and skill. He knows how to make tough conditions seem easy. I really enjoyed getting to know Neil’s new partner Sam and appreciated her constant attention both to the sailing and to the needs of her guests. She is a great cook as well! You will want to bookmark their website and make plans for their next season. Maybe I’ll meet you on your trip, since I am certain that I will be joining them again next year! Zane, Ohio, USA
Island Hopping
Thank you both for a fantastic adventure! Each island and bay we visited had its own special beauty. The time flew by and you both went above and beyond when it came to making my trip one to remember. Very appreciated. See you both next year for a French adventure. Oh la la!! Nina, Birmingham, UK
Family from Denmark sailing Bequia to Grenada
"Thank you so much for the most fantastic holiday - from the day you picked us up in Bequia to now in Grenada. It has been everything we dreamed of. Beautiful scenery, wonderful snorkelling, great food and good company. Thank you for showing us all these wonderful places, for letting us try our hand at being sailors and taking care of our every need. We have all learned lots of new things and you’ve both been great teachers as well as companions. It has been great getting to know your and we wish you the best of luck with Nemo. Thanks again." Annette, Soren, Anders and Peter, Denmark.

More Xmas charter pics
Thank you for a great sailing week! Image to go with this: Sail Fast Tshirts.
