Lady Marigot

$23,000 - $27,000 / WEEK

Lady Marigot is named after what the novelist James Michener called 'the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean' - Marigot Bay, Saint Lucia. She is a spacious Privilege catamaran with an elegant finish, comfortable seating, and excellent sailing performance... our ship sails quick! What is more, since the boat rests high above the water, fewer waves splash against the bottom resulting in a smooth and speedy sailing experience. For guests who are looking to explore sheltered cays, quiet beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and bustling tropical markets, Lady Marigot and her crew will take you on an unmatched adventure to both the hidden gems and popular destinations of St. Vincent & the Grenadines! The captain and two crew, with years of hospitality and onboard experience, provide a truly authentic Caribbean charter. Each from St Lucia, all three have spent their lives sailing there, the Grenadines, and the Lesser Antilles. All of our crew have worked with Lady Marigot for over six years (relief-crew included!) and our chef has been with us for ten. Lady Marigot's spacious decking offers sunbathing mattresses located either side of the cockpit; bean bags, trampolines, and plenty of room further forward; two seats at the bow to enjoy a glass of wine & watch for dolphins; and comfortable, unforgettable elegance all around! For active guests, there are tubes, inflatables, towable toys, snorkeling gear, yoga mats, and paddle boards. A 50HP tender allows for speeding to the smaller islands and beaches, such as the Tobago Cays' Turtle Sanctuary or the beachside lobster BBQ. On entering the interior, the cherry-wood saloon has plenty of light, multiple seating areas - for coffee and dinner - a large TV, sofa, and a well-placed wet bar for the crew to prepare drinks and cocktails. With the galley down in the starboard hull, guests will have even more room to socialize and relax. Typically, guests dine outside in the expansive cockpit seating area. There are two King and three Queen cabins onboard. All cabins in Port and Starboard hull have ensuite dry shower and separate head. The cabins are spacious with plenty of storage, air conditioning, and child safe fans. Two crew would typically stay in the central queen cabin while the captain has his own separate accommodations forward. During 2022 - 2023 Lady Marigot has been equipped with new teak decks, new windlasses, new galley equipment, a new hull gelcoat, new rubber seals, new linens, new towels, and additional new water-sports equipment. Lady Marigot has been designed as a fast, luxurious yacht offering an opulent interior space, beautiful lines, and flat uncluttered decks with plenty of room to sunbathe. Sailing performance should not be overlooked - she will match and outpace even the lightest of catamarans on the water. Regardless of whether you are young at heart or old in spirit, we will craft the ideal, bespoke charter for you based on years of travel and nautical experience... Lady Marigot awaits!

Two queen beds (2m x 1.6m) with ensuite dry heads forward, two king beds with ensuite dry heads aft. There is an additional queen bed centre of the yacht with an ensuite wet heads used by the crew.

Lady Marigot is managed by a fully Saint Lucian crew with years of sailing, hospitality, & operations expertise. Together, the crew has traveled to 45 unique countries, as well as having made four trans-Atlantic crossings between them. They have sailed all across the Caribbean and specialize in the Windward Islands.

With their mastery of Lady Marigot and unrivaled knowledge of St. Vincent & the Grenadines, our crew will provide an unparalleled and truly authentic charter experience!

Captain: Francis McLawrence

With over 46 years of captaining experience, Francis found his love for the sea at a young age - at just six months old, he crossed from St. Lucia to Barbados with his father. Never looking back, Francis spent every school vacation thereafter at sea. He has captained a wide-range of ships, from catamarans, power-yachts, to even tug-boats. Captain Francis has done it all - yacht charters, sport & commercial fishing, shipping, & pleasure sails. He has obtained an array of boating qualifications, including but not limited to Boat Master License, Celestial Navigation Certification, and Basic Electronics.

First trained to sail using a sextant and star charts, Francis is one of the few mariners who upholds the tradition of celestial navigation. He has traversed the entire Caribbean this way (no GPS!), as well as having crossed the Atlantic by catamaran.

Well read, Francis brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise onboard. He is well versed in Caribbean history, local flora and fauna (by land and by sea), and the evolution and traditions of sailing. Young at heart, Francis is always excited to learn and brings both energy and experience to every charter – as well as more than a few great stories!

In his free time, Captain Francis designs and builds custom ships made of recycled plastic, old dinghies, & plywood. He plays bass guitar and enjoys science fiction.

Chef: George Henry

George has over 30 years of culinary expertise, mastering the preparation of local cuisine while serving world class dishes for all to enjoy! Prior to his decade as Head Chef on Lady Marigot, George worked for numerous resorts, yachts, and kitchens in every role. He was Head Chef onboard a crewed Oyster 56 and 72, Head Chef at Hummingbird Beach Resort, Sous Chef at Sandals Grand St. Lucian, and has also worked as a Chef at Anse Chastanet. Additionally, his experience as Head Chef for the Corporate Cantina at Flow, the biggest telecommunications company in St. Lucia, speaks to his ability to plan and manage any desired dining experience.

Trained in London, George's specialty dishes include freshly prepared fish and local Caribbean cuisine with fresh ingredients and a foreign flair. He brings a refined authenticity to the galley. Additionally, with his time working onboard with the American Owners of Lady Marigot, George can cook a variety of international dishes.

When he isn't cooking, George's primary responsibility is guest services on Lady Marigot, which includes assisting with preparation of the guest areas and arranging excursions.

Whether it is the annual lady’s trip for friends of forty years, young family excursions, honeymoons, or reunions for college pals, each charter George oversees is kept clean, well managed, and filled with fun. His meticulous attention to detail and friendly demeanor makes him the ultimate companion and a fantastic host on any charter.

In his spare time, George enjoys hiking, ziplining, and fishing.

Deckhand: Devon Popo

Devon is 31 years old and works seamlessly with Captain Francis and Chef George to ensure a smooth charter. While sailing is his profession, Devon's passion is for farming the bountiful Lucian soil. His hobbies include cycling, hiking, cricket, football, and fishing. Affable & endearing, Devon is a charming young man whose youthfulness is an exceptional addition to any crew - just wait to be impressed by the friends he has made, and continues to make, all across the Caribbean!

Qualifications: STCW; Hospitality Training Course from Jade Mountain, St Lucia; Refrigeration and Mechanical Repairs Certification.

This was my second time on the boat. The weather was perfect, as was the company. Captain Francis, George, & Devon were excellent, especially helping four old ladies on & off the boat – they are ready for their careers in the nursing home, if they can be dragged away from the sea! As usual, there was more than enough delicious food & drink. -Elinor

We had the most amazing time aboard Lady Marigot! The captain and crew allowed us to savor every moment of our sail around St. Lucia. The quarters were comfortable and spacious with the added benefit of having a full bathroom and shower for each room. The boat had several spots that were ideal for each time of day with a large open bow to relax at sail, a luxurious lounge in the stern for playing cards and enjoying meals, and a cozy salon. I am already looking forward to our next trip! -Will S.
Feb. '23
Thank you for the opportunity to make more memories and continued friendships aboard the “Love-Boat” (Mac & Tara’s engagement exactly three years ago!!) Memories always surface on Lady Marigot of places and people who we all enjoyed, together. Captain Ben did an excellent job navigating and having the comedy chef & crew duo of George & Devon act as our tour guides was an added bonus! Every trip is always the “Best Trip Ever”’ -Al B.
Feb. '23

P.S. best crew ever!! Thanks first for the wonderful “open arms” treatment, then for all the fun, laughter, libations, & sites to behold. Another special trip… whales, dolphins, catching tuna on both lines… best of all being with special friends for 10 days. Lady Marigot proved the perfect host! -Mac "the Iceman"

This week on the boat has been uniquely special. We’ve seen a slice of paradise each day of our voyage. Will treasure the memories. Captain Francis & the crew attended to our every need. The Grenadines are beautiful & varied, all gorgeous in their own way, one after another. Perfect itinerary! Extraordinary adventure! Many thanks. -Scottie R. & company
Nov 18th 2023 - Fantastic
How was your Charter? Fantastic. We have never been to the Caribbean to live onboard and it was a great experience. Lee and George were so wonderful and accommodating. The food prepared by George far exceeded our expectations, especially his Caribbean themed Thanksgiving dinner. We enjoyed the laid back nature of the Crew and Captain Francis was also awesome. Do you have a favorite activity or Day? We loved the uniqueness of each island we visited and the mixture of bars and restaurant on the island and the fun nights on the boat. Could we have improved the experience? Not for us! Travelling gas a group can be hard for the crew - they did a great job to accommodate everyone. Samantha and Jeff How was your charter? Excellent!!!! Captain and Crew were professional and pleasant people. Couldnt be more pleased. Food was outstanding for the small kitchen workplace. What was your favourite experience? The evening lobster on the beach. Great vibes and great swimming and snorkelling. How can we improve? You got me on that one!! Thanks so much. Mark and Deborah How was your charter? We had a wonderful experience! What was the favourite activity? Snorkelling and swimming were faboulous How can we improve? There were some hikes and land activities we'd wanted to do that didn't come together. Advise guests to take dramamine early! Louise

-Will S.

P.S. best crew ever!!

Louise
