ILLUSION
ILLUSION is a brand new, Nautitech 46 Open sailing catamaran. It’s easy to see why the highly experienced, owner-operator chose this build above all others. She is sophisticated, high-tech, ultra-modern and designed with an enormous amount of indoor-outdoor living space, equivalent to a respectably sized apartment. To put it simply, ILLUSION is perfect for charter. The open architectural layout is a unique stroke of genius. Everything is on one level without steps: galley, lounge and dining areas. The vast main deck level seamlessly fuses indoor/outdoor living spaces, enhanced by all-round views through huge windows. In the evening, indirect lighting provides an exquisite ambience. Wide patio doors open onto the alfresco dining and lounging areas beneath the protection of the rigid bimini. Comfortable seating around the large table is ideal for anyone who loves alfresco living protected from the sun. Those who want to bask in the sun, cooled by the tropical wind, can sprawl across the sunbathing area between the hulls. From the four guest cabins, the sea is always in sight. They are spacious and airy, with bright furniture finishes and lots of indirect light. Two are equipped with king beds and two have queen beds. Each is ensuite, with toilet and shower, iPod dock and electric fan. There’s ample natural light and ventilation thanks to hull windows and plenty of overhead hatches. Whether you and your guests are inside or on deck, everywhere there’s ample room to move around safely and without getting in the way of other people. In fact, the cockpit lounge boasts ample space for up to 12 people. Overall, if you’re charter requirements include performance sailing and luxury living, ILLUSION will delight you. Bruno is married with four children and has had a long, distinguished career as journalist with French newspapers. He recently retired as the CEO of the second largest French newspaper, Sud Ouest. After spending 30 years in the world of the Press he decided to return to his first passion of yachting and sailing.
Bruno has been at one with the sea for as long as he can remember. At the age of 10 he joined the Marine Scouts in his home town of Marseille. He was an avid member of the Scouts for nine years. Following Scouts membership he joined local yacht clubs and was well known for his superb skills in many sailing regattas. Naturally he was thrilled to own his first boat. He has owned, sailed and thoroughly enjoyed seven more boats prior to purchasing ILLUSION. On all of his boats labors diligently to prepare all equipment and rigging for speed, safety and the utmost in comfortable cruising.
Bruno graduated with his Captain 200-ton license, STWC 95 French qualification. He is intimately familiar with the Leeward and Windward Islands of the Caribbean, where he has lived and worked for many years as the CEO of the French newspaper France Antilles. Bruno has sailed extensively in France and throughout Mediterranean and the Caribbean. He has sailed from Grenada through to Puerto Rico and is especially fond and familiar with the French West Indies. He loves nothing greater than showing his charter guests the beauty of the different islands aboard sailing catamaran ILLUSION.
Chef/Mate Sarah Franceschi
Sarah is Bruno's beautiful and talented eldest daughter. She has previous experience aboard sailing catamaran Harmony and sailing yacht Point 02. While she excels at French and Mediterranean cuisine, she can easily adapt her menu to suit any guest preferences. She is also an accomplished sailor, having sailed with her family since she was a toddler. Sarah has spent the last 5 years working in a restaurant in Bordeaux, but the yearn to be sailing in the warm Caribbean waters has tempted her to return to yacht charters. Guests will be delighted by both her marvelous meals and her thoughtful and gracious countenance.
