Captain Greg Chef Vanessa and Host Amanda

Crew Profiles: 
Greg Landridge
Born in St Albans in the UK, Greg started sailing from the age of 10 and gained his RYA Offshore Yachtmaster (Commercially Endorsed) qualification when he was just 18 years of age. Greg has worked on a number of different boats, including North Sea hydrographic survey boats, undertaking sea trials on Round The World Challenge boats and as the delivery skipper on a wide variety of boats to different Mediterranean locations. He also spent several seasons as a flotilla skipper in Greece and Croatia, gaining his Cruising Instructors qualification along the way.
Greg is a qualified PADI Dive Master. Diving is allowed from the yacht for certified divers at a small additional cost. The underwater environment is a beautiful but fragile one and he supports the PADI AWARE project which seeks to conserve the underwater environment for others to enjoy.
Greg used this knowledge and vast knowledge of the charter industry to set up Blue Passion Sailing with his partner (now wife) Vanessa. Ultimately, they became a very successful and award winning Caribbean charter yacht. Now eager to host guests on board Lir, you can be assured of the highest level of safety and sailing

Vanessa Langridge
Born in Brest, North West Brittany, Vanessa started sailing on a Hobie catamaran in France and since meeting Greg, she has developed a love of and passion for sailing, gaining a huge amount of experience on boats of different sizes and in different countries. As an experienced chef, Vanessa likes to use local fresh food wherever possible to produce beautifully cooked meals for her guests.
After 6 seasons, on one of the most successful and award winning charter yachts in the Caribbean fleet, Vanessa is adapt at recognizing and providing those special touches that make a sailing
holiday on board Lir a truly memorable experience.
Together, they make an excellent team, both sharing the same passion for sailing and living the dream!

Amanda Hyatt
Amanda has excelled in the service industry for more than eight years. During her career she has traveled extensively and made lifelong friends along the way. Her radiant smile and genuine warmth make guests feel immediately at ease aboard LIR. She’s a natural with small children and when there’s a bit of spare time she’s always keen to teach the older ones paddle boarding and surfing techniques. Even if you thought you’d never give watersports a try, Amanda will show you how fun and easy it can be.
Amanda has a serious side when it comes to caring for guests aboard LIR. She anticipates the needs of guests before anyone has to ask. She keeps everything immaculate and organized. She has always enjoyed communicating with people of different cultures and ethnicities. She earned a Bachelors degree in Spanish and she speaks conversational Italian. Wherever guests come from, Amanda will have no problem making them feel at home. A charter aboard LIR is a truly privileged experience to which Amanda adds sparkle and joy.

Cherry Tomato, Spring Onion and Honey cured ham Muffin served upon an English muffin, accompanied with crispy bacon & Italian herb sausage.

Lunch

Goats cheese salad 

Mixed greens, warm goat cheese rolled in speculoos biscuit with sweet balsamic vinaigrette

Smoked Salmon Moroccan Cakes served with a chick pea minty salad and warm freshly baked rolls.

Starters

Scallop Carpaccio served with caramelised mango and balsamic reduction

Cheese soufflé served on a shallot & lettuce bed accompanied with a lemon & basil dressing.

Mains

Saffron infused Mussels

Steamed with white wine, Dijon mustard & saffron, served with potato purée & glazed French green beans.

French inspired duck. 

Roasted duck breast and foie gras served with figs marmalade, curry cauliflower and fresh almonds
