The Return of USVI/BVI’s

With spring break officially underway, we thought we would take this time to provide an update to the USVI/BVI region as well as provide a reintroduction to one our favorite crews.

2017 Saba 50

As many of you are aware, the region was impacted by 2 very powerful hurricanes in September of 2017. While the hotel industry has been slower to recover, the charter industry has been able bounce back a little quicker as boats that were destroyed have been removed and new catamarans have been found and are in transit back. One such boat and crew is the very popular Fountaine Pajot-Saba 50′ named Zephyr. With a modern design aesthetic, a forward lounge, a flybridge and climate controlled cabins with en-suite bathrooms she made for a very popular charter boat for families and couples. Her crew-Matt and Kendra Miles quickly became one of the most sought after crews for the 2016/2017 season. After hosting a variety of groups ranging from families with special needs to 50th Birthday celebratory charters-she was the instant “go to.” Sadly she did not fare well during Irma and was eventually “totaled” a few months ago.

Fortunately, we received official notice a few days ago that Matt and Kendra are returning to another 2017-Saba 50′ currently in transit from Martinque to St Thomas. Their new Saba is named Sea Dragon and will be available for charter in a few weeks!

The waters and scenery of the BVI’s are open and waiting for guests to return. In addition to the famous beach bars on JVD-fishing, diving and snorkeling have all been reported as “amazing.”

Popular and sought after crew: Matt and Kendra return to charters!

We will be returning to  this series over the coming weeks as we prepare for our visit to Tortola and St. Thomas in May to tour the area and progress.

In the meantime, please visit our British Virgin Islands Featured Yachts Page and specifically-Sea Dragon for trip and catamaran options.
