First Mate: Sam Spruill

Sam is a North Carolina native who grew up fishing and hunting on the water and has been passionate about nature and the outdoors his whole life. Sam knew from an early age that he was destined for life at sea. He joined the yachting industry after graduating from East Carolina, where he pursued a degree in education. Rather than becoming a high school history teacher, he followed his passion for exciting adventures and travel. Sam has spent the last five years gathering experience on various yachts, traveling from Costa Rica on to Alaska, and Maine to the Bahamas. He is always looking for a new challenge, new places to explore, and more trophy fish to add to the photo album.

Michelle worked a full-time serving job at the Ritz Carlton, Bacara, where she found her passion for exceeding guest expectations and enjoyed meeting people from all around the world. After graduation, she moved to San Francisco to start her career at UBS as a Client Service Associate. After 2 years, Michelle decided to pursue her dream working in the yachting industry. Michelle’s bubbly and outgoing personality, combined with her passion for hospitality makes her a very valuable crew member on board Blue Time.

Second Stewardess: Nikilee Truong

Born and raised in New York, Nikilee moved to California for college, embracing the West Coast lifestyle and her love for the outdoors. During charters, Nikilee enjoys crafting signature cocktails and adding personalized touches that turn every trip into a memorable adventure at sea!
Fun fact: Nikilee and our Chief Stew, Michelle, were college roommates!

Deckhand: Nick Vincent

Nick was raised in a small suburb of Minnesota, just an hour north of the Twin Cities. Growing up on the lake, he spent his summers fishing, playing water sports, and adventuring outdoors with friends. Winters were filled with pond hockey, snowboarding, and snowmobiling, all while balancing his passion as a competitive gymnast year-round.

Nick’s love for the ocean was inspired by his travels through Costa Rica, exploring its national parks and stunning coastlines. This connection to nature and adventure ultimately led him to pursue a career at sea, where he brings enthusiasm, hard work, and a passion for life on the water.

Christmas 2024
Guest Feedback Christmas 2024: We had a great time onboard BLUE TIME with the family to celebrate the Christmas holiday. Besides the importance of having a great chef, my son wanted to fish. The fishing program onboard BLUE TIME exceeded our expectations and we are hopeful to book BLUE TIME in the Abacos this summer for some more catching. We enjoyed the crew so much that we took them out for dinner two nights and included them in our White Elephant Christmas gift exchange on Christmas morning. They were all great. Thank you for helping bring our family together for a wonderful time on the water. Broker Feedback Christmas 2024: Thank you so much for coming to the rescue in helping me secure a Christmas Charter with a superb fishing program when there were not sufficient inventory choices. It’s great to be able to trust the CA and a captain that I have worked with in the past to pull something together; even without yacht photos, crew profiles, etc. The experience working with Captain David and his crew was great and I was informed along the way with the daily activities and fun festivities that took place onboard. I will certainly be putting BLUE TIME at the top of my list for future charters of this size.
New Year's 2024/2025
My longtime client and his family had one of their most amazing charters onboard Blue Time over the holidays in The Bahamas. As Captain David Gies is a favorite go-to captain, he applauded the current crew dynamics and praised their efficiency and personable attitudes. He was also most impressed by the yacht's refreshed interior, the expansive feel of the space onboard, the timeliness of meal service and the ability of the chef to create all of their favorite dishes on a whim. He is already planning another charter onboard Blue Time this year — as time permits— and he is looking towards returning in 2026
Broker Feedback April 2025
The charter on Blue Time was fabulous. My client has chartered dozens and dozens of times and he said, “ Great Bahamas trip. Very good food, boat is in great shape, and the crew was off the charts. There was nothing that could have been done better. Even the engineer had a great personality” I also found the crew excellent to communicate with in advance of the charter. Capt David really listened to the info I shared about the kind of experiences they like to have and just knocked it out of the park. Thank you !!! I will certainly be booking with you again.
Guest Feedback April 2025

You demonstrated absolute mastery of this area which is no surprise given your vast experience, and you also delivered a "full on, action packed" adventure with elite service that the family loved. I knew of your strong reputation for a superb vessel and crew, but this was the first time "the stars aligned" when dates for my clients could fit into your busy calendar. You will be at the top of my list going forward!"
