He has been closely involved in numerous yard periods and refits, working directly with owners and vendors to ensure all projects are completed efficiently, thoroughly, and on schedule. This hands-on experience has given him a comprehensive understanding of vessels, inside and out.
Peter has navigated waters around the world, including New England, Florida, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and throughout the Mediterranean, visiting Turkey, Greece, Italy, and France. He’s worked on a variety of private and charter boats ranging from 60 to 150 feet, including popular charter yachts such as M/Y SILVER LINING, M/Y AQUA LIFE and currently onboard M/Y INSIEME.
As Captain, Peter’s top priorities are maintaining the highest standards and ensuring the safety and comfort of both guests and crew. His goal is to make every charter an exhilarating adventure that guests will never forget.
Outside of work, Peter enjoys scuba diving, freediving, hiking, yoga, cycling, traveling, and snowboarding, maintaining an active and health-focused lifestyle.

Prior to yachting he completed a Marketing Management University degree, in addition to competing in national field hockey tournaments in SA and the UK, along side coaching children. He loves all sports related activities, as well as golf, soccer, rugby, scuba diving, surfing and snowboarding. With taste buds as adventurous as his spirit in his down time he loves experiencing new cuisines and cultures across the world, whilst capturing memories from above with his drone. James’ friendly and approachable demeanor will entice you to explore the beautiful activities that await you in the Exumas cays.

OMG moment last night. Captain Peter was the 1st Matte with us back in 2016 for our charter on SKYE. That was our very 1st overnight charter for 3 nights. He was amazing then as Pete and even more impressive now as Captain Peter :)
Our charter has been perfect. Winds have been constant which impacts a few things, but I am relaxed and loving it. The connection to Pete is amazing a decade later and is truly incredible.
Amazing team on this yacht and Jason is right up there in the top 5 for sure.

We traveled from California to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday on Insieme and we can truly say it was an experience of a lifetime. From the moment we stepped onto the deck, we were greeted by the warm hospitality of the exceptional crew. They made us feel like royalty. Whether it was indulging in gourmet meals prepared by the talented chef (Jason), embarking on exciting excursions to explore around the island, relaxing on deck with delicious drinks (thanks to Alex), every moment aboard was a testament to the crew's dedication to excellence. James went above and beyond to give our kids the most incredible time spending time with them playing with every water toy imaginable. They will never forget this trip and non of it would come together so beautifully without our Captain Dez. He was so kind and knowledgeable and a truly professional leader. Each of the crew members played a vital role in creating a memorable experience for us and we can not thank you enough.
And to top it off the video at the end was the icing on the cake which make me cry! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The crew is truly what took our trip to the next level.

What are "Med Rates" or "Med Terms?"
Med Term pricing is cost (cost of the boat) + VAT (country tax) + APA (operating and provisioning expenses). The cost is the weekly rate for the charter. The VAT and APA are calculated on the cost of the boat and paid in addition to that base price. The APA covers: fuel, water, food, licenses, alcohol, and any specific items you would like provided to you. APA money that is not used for provisioning would be reimbursed to you- or, if you spend over the amount, they would charge you. The Captain keeps track of expenses and would let you know if you’re reaching your APA limit. This is the industry standard for the region.
Caribbean Terms or Caribbean Inclusions refer to all-inclusive rates. These boats are typically catamarans and monohulls and are found in the Caribbean.
Most (but not all) motor-yachts and sailing vessels in the Med are Med Rate terms.

As Captain, Peter’s top priorities are maintaining the highest standards and ensuring the safety and comfort of both guests and crew. His goal is to make every charter an exhilarating adventure that guests will never forget.

He loves all sports related activities, as well as golf, soccer, rugby, scuba diving, surfing and snowboarding. With taste buds as adventurous as his spirit in his down time he loves experiencing new cuisines and cultures across the world, whilst capturing memories from above with his drone. James’ friendly and approachable demeanor will entice you to explore the beautiful activities that await you in the Exumas cays.

OMG moment last night. Captain Peter was the 1st Matte with us back in 2016 for our charter on SKYE. That was our very 1st overnight charter for 3 nights. He was amazing then as Pete and even more impressive now as Captain Peter :)
Our charter has been perfect. Winds have been constant which impacts a few things, but I am relaxed and loving it. The connection to Pete is amazing a decade later and is truly incredible.
Amazing team on this yacht and Jason is right up there in the top 5 for sure.

“For specific feedback, the crew was so accommodating and helpful with my mom. They went out of their way to include her in excursions and were great at getting her on and off the tender. They maneuvered off the swim platform several times, which was not easy for them. They checked every box you could imagine - Alex played card games with the girls, did a great job with welcome drinks every time we came back. Food was incredible and service impeccable! Although we have only met them a couple times, I consider them friends at this point and we cannot wait to see them again!

We traveled from California to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday on Insieme and we can truly say it was an experience of a lifetime. From the moment we stepped onto the deck, we were greeted by the warm hospitality of the exceptional crew. They made us feel like royalty. Whether it was indulging in gourmet meals prepared by the talented chef (Jason), embarking on exciting excursions to explore around the island, relaxing on deck with delicious drinks (thanks to Alex), every moment aboard was a testament to the crew's dedication to excellence. James went above and beyond to give our kids the most incredible time spending time with them playing with every water toy imaginable. They will never forget this trip and non of it would come together so beautifully without our Captain Dez. He was so kind and knowledgeable and a truly professional leader. Each of the crew members played a vital role in creating a memorable experience for us and we can not thank you enough.
And to top it off the video at the end was the icing on the cake which make me cry! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The crew is truly what took our trip to the next level.

Availability / Rates
Rates are Plus Expenses
14% Bahamas Port Fee
What are "Med Rates" or "Med Terms?"
Med Term pricing is cost (cost of the boat) + VAT (country tax) + APA (operating and provisioning expenses). The cost is the weekly rate for the charter. The VAT and APA are calculated on the cost of the boat and paid in addition to that base price. The APA covers: fuel, water, food, licenses, alcohol, and any specific items you would like provided to you. APA money that is not used for provisioning would be reimbursed to you- or, if you spend over the amount, they would charge you. The Captain keeps track of expenses and would let you know if you’re reaching your APA limit. This is the industry standard for the region.
Caribbean Terms or Caribbean Inclusions refer to all-inclusive rates. These boats are typically catamarans and monohulls and are found in the Caribbean.
Most (but not all) motor-yachts and sailing vessels in the Med are Med Rate terms.
The yachts featured on our website will specifically state which type of pricing they offer.
