Captain Beau Hills

A lifelong ocean enthusiast, Captain Beau Hills has been drawn to the sea for as long as he can remember. His yachting career began in 2003, when his passion for the water led him to take on any job that would keep him near the ocean — from daywork and deckhand duties to leadership roles aboard a range of luxury vessels. Through hard work and dedication, Beau steadily rose through the ranks, earning his 200-ton Captain’s License in 2015.
With over two decades of experience, Beau has captained both private and charter yachts across some of the world’s most sought-after cruising grounds. His calm professionalism, deep technical knowledge, and personable nature make him a favorite among owners and guests alike. Beau is known for his exceptional customer service and his ability to anticipate the needs of high-end clients, ensuring every voyage feels effortless, safe, and memorable.
When not at the helm, Beau is a Certified Open Water Diver who loves exploring beneath the surface as much as navigating above it. He’s also an avid soccer player and, above all, a devoted family man who cherishes time spent with his three children.

First Mate Joel Hernandez

Born and raised in Costa Rica, First Mate Joel grew up surrounded by the ocean — an influence that shaped both his character and his career. With an easygoing spirit and a deep respect for the sea, Joel brings a strong work ethic and a natural sense of hospitality to every charter.
Known for his reliability and calm demeanor, Joel ensures the yacht runs seamlessly, assisting the Captain with navigation, deck operations, and guest activities. His hands-on experience, attention to detail, and friendly personality make him an invaluable part of the team and a guest favorite.
Proud of his roots, Joel carries the pura vida spirit into everything he does — balancing professionalism with warmth, and always delivering service with a smile. When he’s not at sea, he enjoys outdoor adventures and time spent near the water that continues to inspire his life and career.

Rates are Plus Expenses

Med Term pricing is cost (cost of the boat) + VAT (country tax) + APA (operating and provisioning expenses). The cost is the weekly rate for the charter. The VAT and APA are calculated on the cost of the boat and paid in addition to that base price. The APA covers: fuel, water, food, licenses, alcohol, and any specific items you would like provided to you. APA money that is not used for provisioning would be reimbursed to you- or, if you spend over the amount, they would charge you. The Captain keeps track of expenses and would let you know if you’re reaching your APA limit. This is the industry standard for the region.

Caribbean Terms or Caribbean Inclusions refer to all-inclusive rates. These boats are typically catamarans and monohulls and are found in the Caribbean.

Most (but not all) motor-yachts and sailing vessels in the Med are Med Rate terms.

The yachts featured on our website will specifically state which type of pricing they offer.
