BLUE PETER

$38,000 / WEEK
BLUE PETER - 2
BLUE PETER is a classic yacht with real character, offering a different kind of charter experience in Seattle. Originally built in 1928 and thoughtfully restored over the years, she combines traditional craftsmanship with the comforts needed for easy, enjoyable cruising in the Pacific Northwest. She’s well suited for exploring the surrounding waters, from the city skyline out to the San Juan Islands, with a layout that naturally lends itself to relaxed days onboard. The aft deck is a favorite spot—open, comfortable, and ideal for taking in the views, whether cruising or at anchor. Inside, BLUE PETER feels warm and inviting, with teak interiors, a cozy salon, and a more traditional layout that sets her apart from newer builds. It’s an easy space to settle into, whether for a casual lunch, an evening drink, or simply unwinding after a day on the water. Accommodating up to 8 guests, she works well for small groups or families looking for something a bit more unique than a typical charter yacht. BLUE PETER isn’t about flash—she’s about comfort, history, and enjoying the experience of being on the water in a setting that feels genuine.

CAPTAIN- SCOTT GIENOW- AMERICAN
Captain and caretaker for the motor yacht Blue Peter since 2017, Scott Gienow has been working for classic wooden sail and motor yachts for many years. After relocating here from the Great Lakes region in 1996, he has spent the last 30 years working on boats and yachts in Pacific Northwest waters. Scott’s employment has included becoming a technician and dealer for both Webasto Marine Heating equipment, and Garmin Electronic Navigational equipment. He is actively working in the management for refit and rebuilding programs on multiple vessels, teaching new boat owners how to manage and operate their craft, and teaching students of all ages to sail and safely navigate vessels for recreation and commercial purposes. Scott enjoys bringing training clients, charter passengers, and vessels owners together with their vessels, their marine environments and each other in the most beautiful cruising grounds.

Scott is currently an active member of the Pacific Northwest Fleet of the Classic Yacht Association (CYA) and will act as the Harbor Master for the Classic Yacht Association’s Annual Bell Street Rezdenvous on the Seattle Waterfront.

Scott earned his first professional merchant marine operator’s license in 1995 and now maintains a 200-ton, U.S. Coast Guard merchant marine license. He is trained in marine first responder, first aid, basic marine firefighting, and CPR and maintains applicable credentials. He has experience working on sailing, motor-driven and steam-driven vessels.

His plans are to continue to share our local marine waters aboard private boats and the Motor-Yacht Blue Peter, creating the yacht’s next chapter, offering the best possible performance and management for the yacht, as well as researching and documenting the amazing history of this vessel on the Salish Sea, and beyond.

Rates are Plus Expenses
Contract: AYCA Bareboat & Vessel Services,

8.5% tax

Med Term pricing is cost (cost of the boat) + VAT (country tax) + APA (operating and provisioning expenses). The cost is the weekly rate for the charter. The VAT and APA are calculated on the cost of the boat and paid in addition to that base price. The APA covers: fuel, water, food, licenses, alcohol, and any specific items you would like provided to you. APA money that is not used for provisioning would be reimbursed to you- or, if you spend over the amount, they would charge you. The Captain keeps track of expenses and would let you know if you’re reaching your APA limit. This is the industry standard for the region.

Caribbean Terms or Caribbean Inclusions refer to all-inclusive rates. These boats are typically catamarans and monohulls and are found in the Caribbean.

Most (but not all) motor-yachts and sailing vessels in the Med are Med Rate terms.

The yachts featured on our website will specifically state which type of pricing they offer.
