Growing up in Florida boating, surfing, scuba diving and hiking, Brian’s never strayed far from the ocean or forest, and has found the best of both right here in the Virgin Islands. He’s usually the first to spot a turtle in the bay or a deer on the beach.
Brian’s first misadventures sailing were in his 20’s, but he’s gotten much better since then! Just in the last 5 years he’s logged more than 30,000 nautical miles making offshore deliveries on sailboats up to 90’ as a 100-ton USCG Master.
After too many decades as a Project Manager on immense construction sites the family (including a 6 and 9-year old) put core principles first and went on hiatus. They built a small home in a Central American rain forest on property he’d bought whilst surf-wandering years earlier, then lived there for a dozen years.
Brian arrived here in 2006 to manage the construction of a hospital on St. Croix and found it to his liking. Smitten by the Nature, Culture, History and Hospitality of the Virgin Islands, he’s remained here and loves to have serious fun helping you experience as much of them as you can. If you’re a diver, or want to be, he’s also a PADI Instructor eager to guide you around our local sites, or to help you complete your training.

We had an amazing trip with Captain Brian. The seas were calm except for the 1st full day. Brian put us in the best possible spots each day they allowed us to do a number of activities such as diving off the boat, fishing (caught a large Spanish marcel which was an excellent lunch) hiking visiting ruins, snorkeling (saw a res shark, sea turtle feeding, several sting rays. make sure to watch out for the black sea urchins. Not fun when you step on one.
Brian was great cleaning up constantly after us and ready to help out with a beer or cocktail so we never had to get out of the floating chairs. The kids and us will remember this trip the rest of our lives

We has the most amazing time exploring St Thomas and St John on the Freestyle :) It was our first time spending an extended amount of time aboard at sea on a boat and it could not have been a more pleasant experience.
Brian was an amazing captain! he was so attentive to our needs and made sure to guide us so we had the best trip possible. Brian took the time to engage with us on the trip teaching us basic sailing terms/skills as well as the best places to explore dinning our trip.
Some of our favorite parts of me trip were kayaking in the Megan's bay, snorkeling in salt panel, sleeping on the deck under the stars, lounging in the water and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Thank you Captain Brian for the trip of a lifetime. You provided memories my son and I will cherish forever. Finding the new reef, catching the shark, and don't forget discovering the old scoop anchor. Priceless memories! The boat was well maintained. What are "Med Rates" or "Med Terms?"
Med Term pricing is cost (cost of the boat) + VAT (country tax) + APA (operating and provisioning expenses). The cost is the weekly rate for the charter. The VAT and APA are calculated on the cost of the boat and paid in addition to that base price. The APA covers: fuel, water, food, licenses, alcohol, and any specific items you would like provided to you. APA money that is not used for provisioning would be reimbursed to you- or, if you spend over the amount, they would charge you. The Captain keeps track of expenses and would let you know if you’re reaching your APA limit. This is the industry standard for the region.
Caribbean Terms or Caribbean Inclusions refer to all-inclusive rates. These boats are typically catamarans and monohulls and are found in the Caribbean.
Most (but not all) motor-yachts and sailing vessels in the Med are Med Rate terms.
