Ivan Grabovac was born in 1985 in Split, Croatia where has been sailing since he was a boy. First with his parents, and then as he grew older he continued to sail with his friends. After his first job as a skipper when he was 18, he knew that this was exactly what he wanted to do in life. He has therefore been working as a professional skipper from 2008 in Mediterranean Sea and also transfer of boats in Atlantic Ocean with thousands of nautical miles of experiences. Ivan holds Certificate for Yacht Master-100 gross tons (permit “A”) in 2013, Certificate for GDMSS-Restricted radio operator STCW IV/2 and completed Faculty of Maritime Studies at Split in the field of Yacht and Marine Management in 2019. Ivan have a lot experiences with Regattas, Luxury charters and has excellent knowledge of maritime technology which provides him solving many technical problems operatively on board. He is a fluent English speaker and can get by in Italian, French, Spanish, Portugal and German. His passions for the sea, nice food and fine wine are easily contagious. Ivan will make just anyone fall in love with his world. He has a calm nature which makes him pleasant to be around and which enables him to keep a cool head to handle any situation that could occur. He is very open for family’s crews and children loves him.

WHAT MAKES HIM HAPPY BESIDE WORK: He is passionate about wines (pairing wines with high end gastronomy), for sailing and discovering hidden secret places, and history and culture of the Croatia. In his free time he listen music, play bass guitar, makes free climbing and hiking.

Marija Mimica Špoljar, born in 1995 in Zagreb, Croatia, is a lifelong resident of the country, possessing an intimate familiarity with its diverse landscapes. In 2021, she achieved a Master's in Marketing and Communications from PVZG, Zagreb. Demonstrating her commitment to continuous personal and professional development, she also earned a cooking degree from SKMER Acmer in Split. Working as a hostess combines two of my passions: love for the sea and making sure people enjoy their vacation by sharing some interesting facts and providing delicious home cooked meals for them. Extremely motivated to constantly develop my skills and grow professionally. I am confident in my ability to come up with interesting ideas for guest and crew meals. Organized, very tidy and an independent worker. In addition to that, I am very detail-oriented and able to take on and learn new tasks very quickly. My guests are extremely important to me and I always aim to make their experience travelling the Adriatic coast memorable. My extensive knowledge of the coast and communication skills are a great asset when guests ask for recommendations, whether it be local restaurants, beaches to visit or sights to see. In her own words, Marija states, "In the nautical industry, I blend my management skills, clear communication, culinary expertise, and in-depth knowledge of the Adriatic coast to curate unforgettable experiences for my guests."

WHAT MAKES HER HAPPY BESIDE WORK: She is a passionate traveler and likes fine dining cuisine.
Very satisfied in a year we will see each other again
We had a perfect week on the catamaran with our captain Ivan whose approach was friendly and professional. We visited so many beautiful places.
Best crew in the Adriatic!
Can't recommend Luxury Sailing more highly! Our boat (the Princess Aphrodite) was spectacular, and our crew was even better. Captain Duje and our hostess, Marija, took care of everything and made sure that all of us had a great time for our two week trip. We are only sad that the trip is over and that Duje and Marija won't be returning to the US with us.
Trip of a Lifetime
Do you know how you make your trip of a lifetime truly a trip of a lifetime? You get Duje as your captain and Marija as the hostess. Besides the cooking, cleaning, sailing, tour guiding and other duties; they became just part of our group and turned an amazing vacation into an extraordinary one. We sailed to ports we hadn’t seen before, swam in beautiful lagoons, ate delicious food every day, and found 2 new friends. Then we started our second week with them which was better than the first. From start to finish a first rate experience with exceptional people that I hope to do many times in the future.
Awsome
Excellent experience, Marija and Ivan were great crew, they understand in to all the details and ready to help anytime.
Rates are Plus Expenses

Med Term pricing is cost (cost of the boat) + VAT (country tax) + APA (operating and provisioning expenses). The cost is the weekly rate for the charter. The VAT and APA are calculated on the cost of the boat and paid in addition to that base price. The APA covers: fuel, water, food, licenses, alcohol, and any specific items you would like provided to you. APA money that is not used for provisioning would be reimbursed to you- or, if you spend over the amount, they would charge you. The Captain keeps track of expenses and would let you know if you’re reaching your APA limit. This is the industry standard for the region.

Caribbean Terms or Caribbean Inclusions refer to all-inclusive rates. These boats are typically catamarans and monohulls and are found in the Caribbean.

Most (but not all) motor-yachts and sailing vessels in the Med are Med Rate terms.

The yachts featured on our website will specifically state which type of pricing they offer.
