Now into his 18th year as a yacht charter captain, Grégory brings to Manta a wealth of knowledge and experience along with a professional attitude and a meticulous eye for detail. Grégory grew up in Carnac in South Brittany, a paradise for many sailors, and spent his childhood pursuing as many watersports as he could. After few years spent studying business and marketing in Vannes in France and Sheffield University in the UK, his love of the sea and his desire for adventure pushed him to tackle. In 2004 he passed his yachtmaster certificate and then began his career as a flotilla skipper in Martinique. Sharing his time between the Caribbean and Mediterrean Sea, he became an expert at finding deserted idyllic locations, ensuring the guests experience the cruise of a lifetime. In his spare time Grégory loves sailing, riding motorbikes or snowboarding the slopes in the hinterland of Nice.
Joshua - Deckhand
Joshua is a highly motivated and dedicated, with a strong commitment to maintaining and operating the vessel. He possesses excellent attention to detail and strives for perfection. His love of the ocean has lead him to develop many water related skills including wake boarding, surfing and kayak fishing. His previous experience as qualified lifeguard will provide the guests safety when engaged in water activities. With years of experience as a personal trainer in the fitness industry and a BSc degree in sport science, he is well-equipped to offer a diverse range of training modalities for guests. His enthusiasm and passion for fitness are contagious, and he has the ability to work with clients of all levels towards achieving their fitness goals.
Denis - Chef
Denis is a passionate chef who has dedicated over 25 years to his craft, mastering various types of cuisine such as French, Mediterranean, Asian, Japanese, and vegetarian dishes. Continuously driven to evolve and innovate in his cooking, he possesses a versatile and autonomous approach in both the kitchen and the restaurant dining room. Having worked as an event organizer, he learned to adapt seamlessly to different work environments and various equipment, honing his ability to optimize the overall cost of his culinary creations. A diligent and hard worker, he takes pride in his ability to deliver exceptional results. His professional life finds him dividing his time between the enchanting French Riviera and the charming country of Belgium, where he engages in his culinary pursuits with unwavering dedication and enthusiasm.
Alexandra - Stewardess
Alexandra is an enthusiastic and positive crew member with a creative, focused and organised approach to all areas onboard Manta. She is a highly analytical, results driven individual who strives to go the extra mile in her interior department to exceed the expectations of others. Her years of teaching experience has allowed her to become proficient in organisation, admin duties, anticipating the needs of others and developing practical and creative solutions to problems. In her spare time, Alexandra enjoys showing her creative side by hosting events and experimenting with different meals in the kitchen. Growing up on the coastline of South Africa has aided her passions for the ocean, hiking & travelling. Alexandra’s friendly demeanour, great people skills and upbeat attitude will ensure you have a relaxed and enjoyable charter experience with all of your needs catered for whilst onboard Manta.
Med Term pricing is cost (cost of the boat) + VAT (country tax) + APA (operating and provisioning expenses). The cost is the weekly rate for the charter. The VAT and APA are calculated on the cost of the boat and paid in addition to that base price. The APA covers: fuel, water, food, licenses, alcohol, and any specific items you would like provided to you. APA money that is not used for provisioning would be reimbursed to you- or, if you spend over the amount, they would charge you. The Captain keeps track of expenses and would let you know if you’re reaching your APA limit. This is the industry standard for the region.
Caribbean Terms or Caribbean Inclusions refer to all-inclusive rates. These boats are typically catamarans and monohulls and are found in the Caribbean.
Most (but not all) motor-yachts and sailing vessels in the Med are Med Rate terms.
