We are back with more on the Caribbean…
This week, Mandy is in Tortola, BVI with a stop off in St. Thomas, USVI! She’ll be doing a Caribbean blog update later this week. But, before she does, I thought it best to explain what we do when we travel to these fabulous regions for work.
Her Tortola trip is for the 2018 Charter Yacht Show hosted by the BVI Charter Yacht Society at Village Cay Marina held May 11th-12th. The event drew 22 yachts from the region to attend. At the show, charter brokers are invited to view the yachts; each is staged as it would be for a charter and they display the water toys, toiletries, etc. they have available to their guests. We meet the crews, sample foods, attend luncheons…and make certain the cocktails are prepared properly! By attending boat shows, we can better pair a family or group with the perfect yacht for their holiday.
Along with viewing the yachts, a large focus for her is to see the region as it continues its post-Irma and Maria recovery. While we continually follow the hotel and restaurant openings and recovery progress, seeing the region first-hand is essential for WLMS Charters and our clients.
To have a look at progress yourself, take a look at the BVI Traveller video- it was taken this March.
