The USVI and BVI are in full recovery/rebuilding mode…and the results are AMAZING! While Mandy has spent a good amount of time visiting the islands post-Irma, this was my first trip to the region since the hurricane ripped through in September 2017. I was so impressed by the resilience of the islanders and the incredible work they’ve done to rebuild their lives and these incredible destinations.

While most of our time was spent ogling over yachts and meeting with the crews, I was fortunate to hop on a high-speed boat on the last day of the BVI Charter Yacht Society Boat Show to take a tour of the area. Leaving from Nanny Cay, Tortola, we headed toward Virgin Gorda and some favorite charter destinations.
A spin around around Virgin Gorda took us to see Little Dix Bay, Mountain Point- a fabulous snorkel area, and Leverick Bay…all ready for charter visits. We continued on to Bitter End, which is still under complete construction, and then passed by Saba Rock Island checking out its ongoing rebuild. Our next stop was Deep Bay with its large docks all set for yachts and then Oil Nut Bay which is looking great!

From Virgin Gorda we headed over to see the beautiful pink flamingos of Necker Island…a favorite stop that day! From Necker Island, we continued onto the other side of Virgin Gorda with a stop at Honeymoon Bay and then Fisher’s Cove- both are doing well!
Valley Trunk Bay, Devil’s Bay, and the Bath’s finished out our exploration of Virgin Gorda…they’re doing extremely well and are welcoming guests! The water is amazing and you should plan on a visit!
After leaving Virgin Gorda, we cruised past Manchioneel Bay on Cooper Island and took a peek at Salt Island on our way back to Tortola.
One thing to be said after this excursion…WOW! The islands are ready- the waters are beautiful and the gorgeous white sand beaches are beckoning!

Now is the perfect time to plan your charter. We have added more yachts and have separated the USVI and BVI pages for starting locations…but you can sail the BVI from the USVI!
So take a look at our updates…and get ready to sail!
