Florian always loved exploring the world, his curiosity and craving for adventure took him to remote nature and bustling cities in over 60 countries – calling many of them home from Berlin to Auckland, Hong Kong, San Francisco, London, Nairobi, and beyond. Since he started to sail at age 11, he developed a deep appreciation for the unique elements it combines: a close connection to nature, the freedom and independence of travel, the inspiration and space to enjoy the moment, and the opportunity to bring friends together for an unforgettable shared journey. During his teenage summers he taught at a sailing school and later took his friends cruising every year to more than 20 different countries, from tropical waters to the arctic circle. He is a RYA Yachtmaster with several additional certificates in sailing and safety at sea. Previously, Florian held an international leadership position at one of the most influential NGOs globally. Among others, he hosted exclusive events and retreats for leading change-makers at unique locations around the world, from the World Economic Forum and royal estates to pioneering sustainable spaces. He is always keen to find new ways of making our wonderful world an even better place while thoroughly enjoying and celebrating its incredible beauty. Florian now fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning and living on a sailboat to welcome friends old and new on an inspiring journey to the most magnificent places around the world. He loves to share the unique experience of cruising in glorious nature, discovering exciting new places, and enjoying quality time with friends and family from the comfort of a modern 50ft sailing catamaran. Charters with Florian are warm, relaxing, wholesome, authentic, exciting, and inspiring, leaving guests with memories for a lifetime. Everyone is welcome on ‘Purpose’ and everyone will want to come back. Sustainable practices are standard, from a water purifier to reduce plastic bottles to large solar panels and ocean friendly cleaning products. In addition, chartering with ‘Purpose’ means supporting change-makers who preserve the seas we enjoy.

Michael

Michael found his culinary passion at young age growing up in Uk with his mother a passionate cook and his grandmother, who recently released her latest Ethiopian cook book aged 97! Starting early with these diverse flavours encouraged Michael to be confident and bold with his cooking. He began as a grill chef in street food and restaurant kitchens all over London. It was not long before his talent was noticed and was asked to start catering private events and doing supper clubs. He loves experimenting with different cuisines and individual tastes including vegan. Having sailed as a young child, Michael is looking forward to the open water and the fresh produce he can work with to create a menu that you won’t forget.

Sisi
Sísí has a love for nature, adventure and travelling that likely has its roots in her upbringing, having grown up in her home country of Iceland and a tiny village in the Southwest of Greenland. She has always lived a life of adventure and proximity to untamed nature. She has travelled to over 30 countries and islands across four continents, many of which she visited during her 10-month solo travel through South America, Europe, and the Caribbean islands.
She has previous sailing experience in Greenland and Denmark but properly discovered her love for boat life during her first Atlantic crossing, while crewing for 'Purpose'. She has done sailing in the Arctic ocean, Caribbean sea, Atlantic ocean, and the Mediterranean sea.
Sísí speaks six languages at different levels, being fluent in English, Icelandic and Danish, and intermediate in German, Italian, and Spanish.
She has versatile interests and passions, which include childcare, cooking, animal welfare, environmentalism, human rights, travelling and psychology. She has a BSc degree in psychology and has worked in the field of mental health, including working with people with physical, mental and developmental disabilities. Additional work experience includes nannying, sous chef in an organic vegetarian restaurant, and working in service and hospitality.

Exceeded Expectations
This trip exceeded our expectations by a mile. This was our first experience with a crewed cat and chef and after one day I was wondering why we bareboat sailed all those years, shopping, cooking & cleaning. Our captain, Florian, was incredibly accommodating. He was so thorough on instructions around the boat and picked a really diverse itinerary. He also chose anchorages that were within a short swim to excellent snorkeling. He pointed out things to us as we went along and was engaging and a very cheerful fellow. And Michael his crew and chef made wonderful meals, snacks and desserts and we never had to lift a finger. All in all it was a dreamy vacation made all the more so by having a well appointed cat, and an excellent captain and chef/crew. We’d follow them around the world if we could.“ All the best Judy and Mike
Sailing the Grenadines with Captain Florian and First-Mate Mike
We had a group of 8 guest and really enjoyed a wonderful week being pampered by Florian and Mike Floria guided us to many wonderful sights as well as some private and quiet spots. Purpose is a terrific yacht and easily accommodated us Prince Michael treated us to one great meal after another such that we did not even want to leave our yacht to eat elsewhere R. Dobel
Grenadines
Embarked on a charter for 4 couples through the Grenadines with Florian and Mike We had chosen the Grenadines as it is less crowded than the BVI and some slightly longer sailing stretches Purpose was more than adequate for the waters and Florian took us to many beautiful anchorages as well as some of his private locations. Florian is also obviously very confident with his craft as he demonstrated many times that he can handle the yacht by himself Our meals were also absolutely terrific. Chef Mike did and amazing job creating unique meals and presentations that we did not expect out on such a cruise. Most of us did not want to Leave the yacht to even experiment dining ashore. August 5, 2022 What a great way to truly unwind for a week! Florian and Camille were fantastic hosts and went out of their way to make our week onboard the Purpose fantastic. There were four of us in total – Mom, Dad and two kids – and Florian was able to create the perfect itinerary for us from Nassau down to Staniel Cay and back. We hit the popular spots, but Florian also had a few hidden gems that he had found exploring that really stood out to us. To top it all off, Camille did a wonderful job with every meal and really made them special with extra touches along the way. We all went home with big smiles and are, like others, talking about our next visit! Taylor and Melissa Cole
