With its stunning landscapes, secluded coves, and vibrant marine life, it’s no wonder why chartering a crewed yacht in this Caribbean paradise is a sought-after vacation option. However, one burning question remains: how much does it cost to charter an all-inclusive yacht in the British Virgin Islands in 2024? Let’s embark on a journey to uncover the answer.

Continue reading for full breakdown on average costs of a BVI crewed charter in 2024…

First things first: Understanding HOW crewed yacht charters are priced in the BVI is really important. In The British Virgin Islands, the region is dominated by fuel efficient sailing and power catamarans. This makes it much easier for managers and owners to budget for the cost of fuel, provisions (meals and ship’s bar), cruising taxes, and other operating expenses. Therefore the vast majority of crewed charter yachts offer all inclusive terms and conditions. This means they include just about EVERYTHING consumed on the boat including a wide variety of water sports the yacht offers. Gratuity for crew, offshore excursions and ground transportation to and from the yacht are not included. You can view more details on what is AND is NOT included by visiting our FAQ.

Now let’s look at other factors that can affect the price of renting a crewed yacht in the British Virgin Islands. There are many things that can impact the cost of renting a yacht in this location.

  1. Yacht Size and Type: The size and type of yacht you choose will significantly impact the overall cost. Larger yachts with more luxurious amenities command higher prices.
  2. The Number Of People In Your Group: Since pricing is often ALL INCLUSIVE, pricing is based on the yacht you choose and the number of passengers in your group.
  3. Water Toys, & Other Amenities: Many charter yachts are now offering diving, underwater sea scooters and the now VERY popular for 2024: E-Foil. These water toys range in price from $5,000-$15,000 and therefore the owner has to adjust the cost to charter the yacht for the week if they are including these toys.
  4. Seasonality: The time of year you plan to charter can affect pricing. Peak weeks such as the week of Christmas and New Year’s are always the most expensive weeks for the year. The charter rate is based on maximum occupancy of the boat+ a premium rate. Thanksgiving and Easter sometimes also have a higher rate as well.
  5. Duration of Charter: Whether you’re looking for a week-long adventure or a shorter getaway will influence the cost, with longer charters generally offering better value per day. 7 nights is the standard charter term period. Typically if you’re booking less than 6 nights, expect to pay a higher nightly rate.
  6. Additional Services: Special requests, such as specific dining preferences, premium beverages, or exclusive experiences, can add to the overall cost.

Cost Breakdown: As of 2024, the cost of chartering an all-inclusive crewed yacht in the British Virgin Islands can vary widely depending on the factors mentioned above. All Inclusive charter yachts begin around $15,000 per week/$2,142 per night for a smaller yacht that fits 4-6 people. Bigger luxury catamaran yachts can cost more than $60,000 per week/$8,571 per night. For larger groups or those seeking top amenities and services, all inclusive rates can exceed $100,000/$14,285 per night.
